WELCOME BACK GATORS

Hello again! I hope you all had a great summer.
Brace yourselves, this is going to be a long one. Worth the read, though.

So today we had our very first humanitarian club meeting of the 2012/2013 school year- and what a turn out! It was great seeing so many of you back, as well as fresh faces and even a brand new grade 8 member. We welcome all of you and hope you stick around throughout the year to help us help others!

Jumping back into things, there are a number of updates:

-T-SHIRTS! We have our own t-shirts now with a spiffy logo too. They will be available for purchase at roughly $24.00. More information to come on how to purchase your very own.

-We have received word that the Kenya 2012 trip was a SUCCESS! Don't feel bad if you missed out, however, as there will be another trip in 2013. Surely this will be a great opportunity to help others and see the world from a whole new perspective! Stay tuned for more information.

-The next trip to Friends Langley Vineyard will take place NEXT WEDNESDAY. If you are not already signed up, please speak to David Park or Sungbin Kang for sign up sheets. Come on out if you are interested in volunteering to help provide a hot meal to those who may not otherwise have one.

-There will be a trip to Langley Gardens on Monday, September 10th. The group will be meeting at 2:45pm in the foyer. They will also be going on Tuesday, September 11th as well at 3:15 to play a round of Bingo with the golden agers.

-The next trip to Gleaners will be held on Saturday, September 29th. The group will be meeting at WGSS at 7:30 am. It is early but it is also a great cause... so set your alarm clock and don't be late!

-The PKSS (Project Kenya Sister School) club will be having meetings at lunch on Fridays in room 165. Feel free to pop in if you are interested in raising money for Sweetwaters, our sister school in Kenya.

-Lastly, a reminder that there will be jars circulating the room at humanitarian meetings to raise money for Graham's Muscular Dystrophy charity and Zoe's Operation Smile charity. Every cent counts, so don't forget to bring any spare change that may be hiding in your sofa.

DON'T HESITATE TO PARTICIPATE! NEWCOMERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR BEING SO AWESOME! LET'S TRY TO MAKE THIS A FANTASTIC YEAR... NOT JUST FOR US, BUT FOR ALL OF THE WORLD!
